I started sharing videos of my progress on piano 2 years ago with no real expectation that anyone would care, but everyone’s reactions have inspired me to continue learning, practicing and sharing. The idea that sharing my progress, mistakes and all, is inspirational to anyone but me is humbling, but I’ll definitely ride with it.

For those who have been following me through the day-to-day practice routines, I’m excited to finally present my first production built as a piano composition to all of you. Last year, we released HuntorPrey’s “Hy-Definition” on our label Definition Music. The last song, “Chasing Butterflies” was a spoken word piece in which I composed an entire piano piece around. I’ve never made anything like this before: a completely new approach to my creative process.

“Chasing Butterflies (Hunter’s Theme)” is a piano-and-violin piece in G minor. I’m beyond excited that not only did I play this, but I’m beginning to understand how to articulate ideas like harmonic analysis and non-chordal tones that mark this particular piece.

Available on all streaming platforms, but I'm most proud to have it here on Bandcamp.
